Is SpaceWeatherX free?

The app is free to download. Space-weather data and alerts are available without a subscription. The optional annual SpaceWeatherX Plus subscription removes ads. The store shows your local price before purchase.

Can the app tell me if I will see the aurora?

It brings together aurora-model information, darkness and local cloud forecasts for your selected location. These describe viewing conditions, not a guarantee. Check the timestamps, choose a dark place with an open horizon and follow official updates.

Why is the data not up to date?

Check your internet connection and the update time shown in the app. NOAA, NASA and other sources may be delayed or temporarily unavailable. A stale-data label means the display should not be treated as current conditions.

Why am I not receiving notifications?

On versions with phone notifications, enable them in the app and in your device settings. Check your chosen alert categories, location and internet connection. Focus, Do Not Disturb and battery restrictions may delay delivery. Notifications are triggered when alert conditions are met; switching them on does not create an alert immediately. Delivery is not guaranteed.

I subscribed but still see ads.

Check that you use the Apple or Google account used for the purchase. Open the subscription settings in the app and restore or refresh your purchase. Confirm that the subscription is active in the relevant store. Do not purchase again just because the status has not yet loaded.

Is the CME animation real footage?

The animated Sun–Earth scene is an illustrative reconstruction. Time and size are not to scale, and the scene does not itself predict an Earth impact. When an original NASA CCMC model is available, it is offered separately.

The app will not open. What should I try?

Update SpaceWeatherX through the App Store or Google Play, close the app and open it again. If it keeps crashing, contact us with your device model, operating-system version, app version and when the crash occurred.
